Packing a suitcase! 5 things to take on a vacation in Kacze Stawy

For some, packing a suitcase is pure joy. For others – especially when you’re travelling with kids – it’s a source of stress. On one hand, you want to take everything you might need. On the other – you don’t want to end up with a bag full of things that never leave the bottom of the suitcase.

That’s why instead of a generic checklist, we’ve put together something more practical – things that really come in handy during a holiday at Kacze Stawy. Items that work specifically on our grounds, in our cottages, in our conditions. We know them from experience – our own and our guests’.

See what’s worth tossing into your bag before you zip it up.

A picnic blanket and family games – because there’s no shortage of green nooks here!

If you think you’ll spend all your time on a sunbed or by the playground – we’ve got a nice surprise for you. At Holiday Park Kacze Stawy there are plenty of spots where you can simply spread out a blanket, take out a board game or snacks and enjoy slow, family time in a completely relaxed way. Three steps from your cottage, a bit further from the animations, maybe right next to the mini zoo – you choose. And that’s exactly why a picnic blanket is worth packing: it doesn’t take much space and you’ll probably use it almost every day.

To go with it, take something that will engage the whole family – cards, dice games, charades, Uno, a wooden tower game, frisbee or a ball. Ideally something that doesn’t need internet, a charger or a screen. Because at Kacze Stawy you really do get a chance to switch off from what wears you out during the year.

If you want to approach packing sensibly and without stress, it’s worth checking our guides beforehand: what to take to the seaside for 5 days or a 2-week list without overpacking or useless stuff. They really help.

Bike or child trailer – because here it really pays to get moving

You don’t have to be a sports enthusiast to appreciate how close everything is from Kacze Stawy. But if you bring bikes – you’ll make the most of it. The surroundings are made for cycling: the beach, forest, Lake Sarbsko, cycle paths to Nowęcin and Łeba, and even routes towards Słowiński National Park. If you’re travelling with children and you have a bike trailer, child seat or balance bike at home – it’s worth packing it.

There’s also an on-site bike rental, of course, so if you don’t want to bring your own – that’s fine too. But having your own gear always gives you more freedom, especially when your child already knows and likes it from home. You can head out for a quick morning ride, stop for berries in the forest, cycle to the beach and come back whenever you feel like it.

Your child’s favourite cup or bottle – a small thing that makes a big difference

This isn’t about gadgets – it’s about something very practical. If your child has a cup, bottle or little bowl they use every day at home, pack it. Even though your cottage will be fully equipped (and it will – see our cottages and rooms), it’s often that one familiar item that makes them feel “at home”. And yes – sometimes it can save your morning when your child refuses to drink from “the wrong” cup.

Packing isn’t just about clothes and towels. The small things matter too – the ones that quietly do the heavy lifting. Especially with kids who are sensitive to changes in their daily rhythm. A dinosaur mug, a bee bottle, a plate with a cat – you know best what belongs in your “emotional essentials” pouch.

Packed?

Raincoat and wellies – because even on rainy days there’s plenty to do here

No one wishes for rain on holiday, but if it happens – there’s no need to panic. At Kacze Stawy the grounds are laid out so that even when it rains, kids can play safely and have fun. All you need is a jacket, wellies and the right mindset. The jacket and wellies are on you – we’ve got the rest covered.

During a brief shower you can move to covered areas, check out the sheltered playground, pop into the mini zoo, or simply go splash in puddles – kids love it. And once you’re back, you can play a board game, draw something or join the animations which – yes – are also planned for less sunny days.

A rainy day doesn’t have to be a wasted day. You just need to be prepared. And Kacze Stawy already is – now it’s your turn. A well-packed suitcase means a calm start to your holiday. Even better when you know exactly where you’re going and what to expect. Kacze Stawy isn’t a generic brochure resort – it’s a place where kids can go all out and you can truly rest. And a few smart little extras in your luggage can make your stay even easier.

Once your suitcase is ready, there’s only one thing left – book your cottage or room and give yourself (and your kids) a holiday that really stays with you for a long time.
